Next Gen Portrait Prize 2024

19 October 2024 – 2 February 2025

Held in conjunction with the MAP Portrait Prize 2024, the Next Gen Portrait Prize will take place upstairs at Mudgee Arts Precinct from 19 October 2024 through to 2 February 2025.

The Next Gen Portrait Prize sponsored by the Property Shop, showcases the extraordinary talent of youth in our region and celebrates the people who are important to them.

PRIZES

Sponsored by The Property Shop, Mudgee prize categories for the Next Gen Portrait Prize 2024 are as follows:

Preschool and under           
Kindergarten - Year 2          
Year 3 – Year 6
Year 7 – Year 9          
Year 10 – Year 12        
People’s Choice Award        

Winners of each category will receive an art pack to the value of $150.00.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Entries are invited for two-dimensional portraits by students and young people living in the Mid-Western Region local government area.

Works must be of someone you know, someone you have a personal connection to, or be a self-portrait. The primary subject must be a human. 

Entries close 5.00 pm Monday 14 October 2024

• Competition entry is free.
• Maximum of three submissions per artist.
• Group entries welcome

Friday 1 November: 6pm official opening event and winners announced

Sunday 12 January 2025: People’s Choice Award voting closes

Wednesday 15 January:  People’s Choice Award announced

Sunday 2 February: Exhibition closes

Monday 10 February: Collection of works
